The Govt. offices shift to Jammu. The schools and colleges remain closed in winter almost for two and a half or sometimes for three months. Sometimes due to heavy snowfall and avalanches, the valley gets cut off from the rest of the country for a long time. Though not as charming as in spring, Kashmir is still attractive during winter.
